The Usual Distributor Failure Symptoms to look for

1) The car breaks down with no warning. Breakdown services
diagnose loss of ignition.
- Take off the air intake
- Note the position of the distributor before remove so you can put the new one in the same position
- Label the HT wires and disconnect them
- Remove the 2 square Plugs
- Remove the bolts
- Pull out the distributor and replace with new one
- Fit bolts and set distributor to same position as old one
- Tighten bolts
- Fit HT wires
- Fit square plugs
- Start car
2) Intermittent breakdown - car cuts out when hot then restarts when engine cools down.
